This story begins as most of our stories do: with a man delivering beer.
One day, Ed Ploog, River North Beer Delivery Driver was delivering to one of his favorite accounts, The Local Option, when a light bulb went off in his head: a name, a brilliant name! A name that was destined to be placed upon a beer.
Ed trusted his divine revelation with the boys at Local Option, who promptly called their friends and partners in epic beer-naming, Against the Grain and said, "look, you gotta use this name."
Days passed, and then weeks. And then more days and weeks before finally, as if handed down straight from the gods themselves, the beer arrived.
Against the Grain Ed Ploog’s It Burns when IPA was now a reality.
On April 9th, world’s will collide and fates will be fulfilled as the Against the Grain brewers and Ed Ploog meet for the first time. Be there to witness the epic-ness, meet the man himself and, oh yeah, drink some of Ed Ploog’s It Burns When IPA. Plus, if you take a picture with Ed at the party and tweet it at @RiverNorthBeer, we'll throw you some cool swag.
The Man Himself
Ed Ploog’s It Burns When IPA is an American IPA brewed with Habenero and Serrano peppers. The peppers give fruity flavors that complement the Simcoe and Falconer's Flight hop varieties while providing a nice pepper burn to let you know they are there. ABV 7.6% IBU 90.
