Join us as we welcome Colorado's own Tommyknocker Brewery to Chicago on Tuesday, Feb. 5th at Owen & Engine. They'll be pouring Tommyknocker's Imperial Brown and Cocoa Porter.
Tommyknocker’s Brewery and Pub is located right off Highway 70 on the road from Denver to the famous ski mountains of Colorado, making it a favorite stop for ski enthusiasts and beer lovers. It was in Idaho Springs that the famous gold rush began, and Tommyknocker is named for the mischievous elf-like beings who lived in the cracks and crevices of the mines and directed miners to the richest ore veins.
Today, Tommyknocker carries on the legend with quality handcrafted beers honoring the tales and superstitions of Tommyknockers, including: Maple Nut Brown Ale, brewed with a delicate amount of maple syrup to impart a roasted sweetness, and over the years, has won four medals at the Great American Beer Festival; Pick Axe India Pale Ale, a classic American India Pale Ale using a blend of American hops including Willamette, Chinook, Summit and Mt. Hood and has won 2 Silver medals at the Great American Beer Festival; Imperial Nut Brown Ale, a bigger, bolder version of Maple Nut Brown meticulously crafted with pure maple syrup and the highest quality chocolate and crystal malts, which scores a “91/Exceptional” on Beeradvocate.com by the Alström Brothers; and Cocoa Porter Winter Ale, an uncommonly smooth traditional dark brown ale with a multitude of complex light chocolate and coffee flavors, brewed with the addition of pure cocoa powder and Colorado honey.
